Can I Get by with Cheap Supplements?

One of the most important weight loss tips is to make sure you’re provide your body with the proper nutrients.  If you’re not doing this, your body is going to have some natural cravings to let you know there is something missing.  Now, you may be wondering what’s the best brand to take.  I’m not going to get into specific brands of vitamins and or minerals, but I will try to give you some insight into the difference between a high priced supplement and the cheap supplements you find at the big box stores.

The first rule you need to learn when it comes to supplemental nutrients is: It’s not what you put into your mouth that matters, it’s what your body absorbs. If you’re taking a handful of vitamins each morning, you may be actually absorbing only half of those. There’s no real easy way to find out whether you body is using everything you’re throwing into it. But you can increase the chance for absorption.

The best way I’ve found to make sure I’m increasing the chance for maximum absorption is to stick with natural vitamins and minerals. The truth is, most of the cheap supplements you find on the shelf are synthetic or man-made materials. Even though the structural make-up of these LOOKS the same as the naturally occurring elements, there are minute differences that make it harder for your body to utilize the nutrients.

Because it costs manufacturers a considerably higher amount to process natural vitamins than their synthetic counterparts, you’re going to obviously be paying more for these, but that doesn’t mean you have to pay too much more.  The truth is, you CAN find good cheap supplements if you take the time to shop around.  The first step should be to look online, since a lot of online retailers have much lower overhead than the store down the street. You’re also going to want to look for bulk discounts which can cut your daily cost practically in half.
