If you are trying to lose weight, one of the best ways to accomplish your goals is to reduce your over all calorie intake. All that matter is you are using more energy than you are taking in. If you keep everything the same and decrease the amount of food you are eating you should start to lose weight. This article is going to cover some of the best ways to help reduce your calories. Losing weight can be easy with just a few small steps.

  1. Avoid Simple sugars. Staying away from any types of candies or sweets is a great way to lower your daily calories. Sugar is a simple carb that is fast digesting and fairly useless to your system.
  2. Eat more Fibrous foods. Eating foods that fill you up will help with reducing the amount of food you eat. Vegetables are an excellent source of fiber and are very lower in calories.
  3. Eat lean cuts of meat. Switching from ground beef to a very lean cut of steak can cut out a ton of calories of the decreased fat content. If you are going to use ground beef, get a lower fat content mix or drain the fat when cooking.
  4. Avoid fats. It’s not that fats are bad for you, but they are higher in calories. Fat has 9 calories per gram where carbs and protein only have
  5. Avoid going to fast food joints. Fast food restaurant are normally very high in calories. If you are forced to order something try to get something that is not fried. Fried foods have a much high fat content.
  6. Drinking water. Drinking plenty of water fills you up and helps to reduce the urge to eat. Drinking water is also very good for your body anyways.
  7. Avoid Alcohol. Alcohol contains 6 calories per gram and is considered ‘empty’ calories because they are useless to your body. Your body has to get rid of the toxins before it can focus on doing its other task.
  8. Chewing gum. If you are craving something to eat, try chewing on a piece of gum instead of buying a high calorie snack. The flavor from the gum can be just enough to cut the craving for food down.
  9. Avoid Sodas or other sugar filled drinks. Sports drinks and sodas are filled with sugar, it’s hard to realize the amount of calories you are taking in when drinking liquids.
  10. Self Control. Over all the best way to reduce your daily caloric intake is to just make smart decisions. Making small decisions throughout the day can add up to a huge reduction in your calories.  Eventually you will get into the habit of eating less, or more healthy things. This process will continue to get better as you go along. One of the most important thing to realize is that as long as you are improving something from the previous day, you are heading in the right direction.
