The Ideal Protein Diet Review

by Trigs on March 17, 2010

If you have heard of the Ideal Protein Diet then you have probably heard a mix of good reviews and bad reviews of the plan. While this plan has become very popular as of late, there is a reason why you have probably heard mixed reviews–it’s the same reason why you hear such reviews of most of the typical “high protein diet menu plan” options available on the market today.

The main problem with such plans is in the theory itself – the idea that by starving your body of carbohydrates that you will then use fatty tissue for energy, and lose weight. We’ll that part is true, but the issue is that is not the whole truth. It’s kind of like lying by omission. Yes, you will lose weight, but it is not the way that you should want to lose it, and there in ‘lies’ the problem.

The issue is that not only does the fatty tissue get used, but so does the lean tissue. You know…your heart, liver, kidneys! So, while you are loosing weight temporarily you are not loosing it properly and can be putting yourself at risk.

In addition, you are not giving your body what it needs – your body need carbs to survive, and is very dependent on them. Without them your body will start using what are called ketone bodies instead, which can lead to additional problems due to the imbalances this creates by making your blood overly acidic.

Unfortunately, the Ideal Protein Diet falls right into this category, and thus really should be avoided.  You may be able to find other ideal protein reviews to get a second opinion. Instead, try a good solid diet that combines exercise with proper eating habits and give yourself some time to see results. Remember, you won’t loose the weight immediately, but you will see real results over time, and they will be results that help you all the way around.
